He is the chairman and CEO of OSI Group LLC where the company mainly specializes in meat supplies and food processing. He is also involved in all the aspects of the OSI International Foods Ltd where he serves as the company’s President. Lavin has an extensive experience in the food sector which he joined in 1970 before the establishment of the OSI Group that was formerly known as Otto & Sons. What’s more, with Sheldon Lavin at the helm, the company grew exponentially to be the market leader in the international markets in the food chain industry.

Further, Sheldon Lavin’s background was in the banking sector which he left over 40 years ago after joining the OSI group. At the same time, Lavin was selected as a partner in the company alongside with two of the Otto sons before Otto’s retirement. Lavin’s appointment at the organization saw him become a full-time worker as he was motivated by business strategies and culture.

Nonetheless, the company started expanding to international markets in the 1980s where it began with South America and Taiwan. It further opened branches in Japan, Australia, and South America among others where it was largely Lavin’s effort to grow the firm. Again, as the company continues to expand, Lavin recently directed the purchase of Flagship Europe and Baho Foods which is in line with company’s growth strategy.

Notably, Lavin’s achievements in gearing the OSI Group towards its high profile in the industry led to his recognition where he has since been awarded. Sheldon Lavin received the Global Visionary Award on February 20, 2016, which was presented by India’s Vision World Academy. Better still, under Lavin’s leadership, the corporation has also been the recipient of many environment sustainability awards.
